What Is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
People with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have an airway that is narrower than normal and collapses during sleep. Complications include high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and daytime sleepiness, as well as difficulty concentrating, thinking and remembering. Many people have OSA and don't know it. Dr. Esselman, an ear, nose and throat specialist, will discuss signs, symptoms and treatment.

Sun Damage to Your Skin
Sun damage can be either acute (sunburn) or chronic, resulting in gradual changes caused by an accumulation of sun exposure throughout your life. Chronic damage can result in a cosmetic change in your skin's appearance called sun spots, also known as liver or age spots, which typically appear on the face, neck, upper chest and arms. Dr. Page will explain the sun's effect on your skin and what can be done to protect, prevent and treat damaged skin.

What Is a Urinary Tract Infection?
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a serious health problem affecting millions of people each year. Some people are more prone to getting UTIs than others. Any abnormality of the urinary tract that obstructs the flow of urine (kidney stone, enlarged prostate, etc.) sets the stage for an infection. Dr. Maniam will discuss UTI causes, symptoms and treatments.

Oh My Aching Back...
Innovative Back Surgery

Many people will have back pain sometime during their life. Trauma, aging, improper body mechanics and normal wear and tear can all injure your spine. Damage to any part of your back, especially pressure on your nerves, can cause pain and other symptoms. Thyroid Diseases:
Hypothyroidism vs. Hyperthyroidism

Sometimes the symptoms of an underactive (hypothyroidism) or overactive (hyperthyroidism) thyroid can be as hard to pin down as the diagnosis itself. Thyroid disease can occur at any age, but a simple test can determine its presence. Left untreated, the condition can have serious consequences. Dr. Vaughters will discuss signs, symptoms and treatment options.

Overuse Injuries to Elbow/Shoulder
Exercise is good for you, but accidents, poor training practices or improper gear can sometimes lead to injury. Overuse injuries are subtle, usually occur over time and result from repetitive microtrauma to tendons, bones and joints. Examples include tennis elbow and swimmer's shoulder. Dr. Massie will discuss overuse injuries, which are the most common and challenging to diagnose and treat.

The ABCs of a Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy allows a doctor to look inside the entire large intestine to see inflamed tissue, abnormal growths and ulcers. It is most often used to look for early signs of cancer in the colon and rectum. It's also used to look for causes of unexplained changes in bowel habits and to evaluate symptoms like abdominal pain, rectal bleeding and weight loss. Dr. Winburn will discuss the procedure, how to prepare and more.

What You Need to Know About Arthritis
If you feel pain and stiffness in your body or have trouble moving around, you might have arthritis. Arthritis often causes pain and swelling in your elbows, knees and other joints. Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a silent disease that makes your bones weak and more likely to break. Anyone can develop osteoporosis, but it is common in older women. As many as 50 percent of all women and 25 percent of men older than age 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis. Dr. Vaughters will discuss signs, symptoms and treatment.
